Karen Saunder, Golder Associates

Wataynikaneyap Environmental Assessment

Karen SaundersKaren Saunders MES, R.P.F (ret.) is an Environmental and Indigenous Engagement Specialist with Golder Associates, based in Thunder Bay. Karen has been working on all three components of the Wataynikaneyap Transmission Line Project for over a year, visiting communities as a part of the environmental assessment Engagement Team to share information and gather feedback. Karen graduated from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry, and went on to earn her Master of Environmental Studies from Dalhousie University. Her past experiences include everything from water management, forest management and land use planning, to work in the hydro, mining and aggregate sectors, and work with Indigenous communities. Karen loves to communicate and is an outgoing, social person who is always intrigued by people's values and their influence on natural resource decision-making. She is also a self-declared policy nerd.
